RCDS is pleased to welcome new additions to the RCDS administration, faculty, and staff who will join us in 2026-27. Additionally, title changes for current employees are included below.

Eunice Han
Admissions Interviewer/Screener
Euni is a graduate of Mount Holyoke College, where she studied International Relations. Her professional background spans broadcast journalism, education, and arts & wellness. Her roles included anchor, reporter, writer, producer, and editor at ABC News, Bloomberg, CNBC, and NY1.  Euni has worked in admissions and served as an essay and application reader for APIA Scholars. She also teaches dance, Taichi, and Qigong and loves Korean food.

Jonathan Greenberg
Assistant Director of Bands and Private Lesson Coordinator
Jonathan has been a valued member of the RCDS community for the past three and a half years as a part-time private brass instructor, teaching trombone, trumpet, euphonium, and tuba while leading brass sectionals for our Middle and Upper School bands. He brings extensive experience as a music educator and arts administrator, with previous roles at Riverdale Country School, Hunter College, and Community Works NYC. Jonathan has also enjoyed a distinguished performing career with renowned ensembles, including the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, American Ballet Theatre Orchestra, and Broadway productions such as The Lion King, Wicked, and Les Misérables. He holds a Master of Music from the Manhattan School of Music and a bachelor's degree with honors from Brown University, and is currently pursuing New York State music teacher certification. 

Annie Christensen
Lower School Associate Teacher
Annie earned her B.A. in Elementary Education from Elon University, where she graduated cum laude and was recognized on the President's List, and is pursuing a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction through the University of Virginia’s online program. She recently completed a two-year co-teaching program at Greenwich Country Day School, providing engaging instruction and individualized support to elementary students. Annie also brings leadership experience from serving as an Assistant Camp Director at the American Yacht Club, where she led STEM programming and mentored campers. 

Hayley Owens
Lower School Associate Teacher
Hayley earned her Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood/Childhood Education from SUNY Cortland and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Literacy Education at SUNY New Paltz. She holds New York State Initial Certification in both Early Childhood Education (Birth–Grade 2) and Childhood Education (Grades 1–6). Hayley most recently served as a Teaching Assistant at George Miller Elementary School, where she supported classroom instruction, student learning, and behavior intervention. She also brings experience from student teaching across multiple elementary grade levels and has been recognized with multiple Dean's List and President's List honors.

Kira Campagna
Lower School Associate Teacher
Kira recently earned her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Elon University, with a minor in Environmental Education. She is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Educational Policy at Columbia University. Kira completed her student teaching in both first- and third-grade classrooms and gained additional experience supporting students across various elementary grade levels, including those in special education settings. In addition to her classroom experience, Kira has conducted education research focused on neuroinclusive learning and has contributed to presentations and publications on inclusive teaching practices. As a President's List scholar and a member of the Phi Eta Sigma and Phi Kappa Phi honor societies, Kira demonstrates a strong commitment to fostering engaging and supportive learning environments.

Mariel Lovejoy
Lower School Associate Teacher
Mariel Lovejoy has her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary and Special Education from Providence College and brings experience teaching students across both general and special education settings. Through her student teaching and practicum placements, she has supported learners from first through fifth grade while collaborating with educators and families to foster student success. Outside the classroom, Mariel has served as Head Dive Coach and Art Director for the Town of Bedford Recreation Department, developing leadership skills while mentoring and engaging young learners.

Troy Thomas
Fitness Center Assistant/Varsity Football Assistant
Already a familiar face on campus, Troy Thomas is stepping into an expanded role at Rye Country Day School as Fitness Center Assistant and Varsity Football Assistant Coach. Troy earned his Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion Studies from Western Connecticut State University and has been a member of the RCDS community since 2021 as a sports coach, fitness instructor, and substitute PE teacher. In his new position, he will support the daily operations of the Fitness Center while continuing to mentor and develop student-athletes as part of the varsity football coaching staff. In addition to his work at RCDS, Troy is a certified personal trainer specializing in strength and conditioning, athletic performance, and overall wellness.

Katharine Swift
Lower School Associate Teacher
Katharine Swift recently earned her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Special Education from the University of Delaware. She completed student teaching in Delaware, where she led both whole-group and small-group instruction in elementary classrooms. Katharinei also brings experience as an assistant teacher at a preschool, a swim coach and instructor, and a youth lacrosse coach, reflecting her passion for working with children in a variety of settings.

Tyler Schwirian
Director of Bands
Tyler Schwirian brings more than a decade of experience as a music educator, ensemble director, and department leader, most recently serving as K–12 Music Department Coordinator and Middle School Band Director for the Rye City School District. Tyler has directed concert and jazz ensembles, taught instrumental and music technology courses, and contributed to curriculum development across grade levels. He holds an Ed.M. in Music Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, an M.M. in Orchestral Performance from the Manhattan School of Music, and a B.F.A. in Instrumental Performance from Carnegie Mellon University. A professional tuba player and experienced marching arts educator, he has also served as a brass instructor, caption head, and adjudicator. Tyler’s extensive background in performance, program leadership, and student instruction will support the continued growth of the RCDS music program.

Anne Longley
Testing Coordinator
Anne Longley brings extensive experience in independent school leadership, having served as Director of Upper School at The Baldwin School, Head of Upper School at The Nightingale-Bamford School, and most recently as Placement Manager at Educator's Ally, where she supported schools nationwide with faculty and administrative recruitment. Her career also includes teaching French, curriculum development, college counseling, and student advising across a variety of educational settings. Anne holds a Ph.D. in French Literature from Washington University in St. Louis, an M.Ed. in Foreign Language Education from the University of Georgia, and a B.A. in French and Business Administration from Converse College. 

Jennifer Ferreira
Lower School Assistant Principal
Jennifer Ferreira brings more than 15 years of experience in independent school education, most recently serving as Assistant Director of Lower School at William Penn Charter School. Throughout her career, she has been an instructional leader, classroom teacher, and mentor, with expertise in faculty development, curriculum design, student support, and school leadership. Jennifer has also led initiatives in professional learning, restorative practices, and equity and inclusion across multiple independent schools. She holds a Master of Education from Hunter College and a Bachelor of Science from Cornell University, and has completed leadership programs at both Harvard Graduate School of Education and Columbia University's Klingenstein Summer Institute. 

Charles Cipriano
Upper School Counselor
Charles Cipriano brings more than a decade of experience in independent and public school counseling, most recently serving as a school counselor with the Rye City School District. Throughout his career, he has supported students' academic, social-emotional, and college counseling needs at Rye City Schools, Fordham Preparatory School, and St. Joseph High School. He holds a bachelor's degree in Sociology and Anthropology from Fairfield University and a master's degree in School Counseling from Manhattan University, along with an advanced certificate in Mental Health Counseling.

Ryan Fargnoli
Advancement Coordinator
Ryan Fargnoli brings a diverse background in executive administration, education, and client relations. Most recently, she has served as Executive Assistant to the Managing Director at Thoroughbred Advisors, where she manages complex schedules, coordinates high-level meetings, and supports day-to-day operations in a fast-paced environment. Her experience also includes roles as a building substitute teacher, one-to-one teacher's aide, and executive assistant supporting C-suite leaders. Ryan holds a Master of Science from Mercy College and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of South Carolina.

Angelica Catalano
Associate Director of Content and Storytelling
Angelica Catalano brings more than nine years of experience in strategic communications, public relations, and brand storytelling, having led integrated campaigns for nationally recognized consumer brands, nonprofits, and mission-driven organizations. Most recently, she served as an Account Supervisor at DKC after advancing through multiple leadership roles at Sunshine Sachs Morgan & Lylis, where she managed client relationships, media strategy, and content development. Throughout her career, she has specialized in crafting compelling stories, building media partnerships, and mentoring communications teams. Angelica earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Media Studies, with a minor in Sociology, from Manhattanville College.

Liam Heraty
Upper School Math Teacher
Liam Heraty recently completed his Master of Education in Teaching and Teacher Leadership at the Harvard Graduate School of Education after earning a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and Philosophy, with distinction in the major, from Yale University. He taught Geometry and Honors Precalculus at Brookline High School and co-taught Algebra I through the Cambridge–Harvard Summer Academy during his graduate studies. In addition to his classroom experience, Liam has spent several years tutoring mathematics at all levels and serving as a residential instructor for Yale Young Global Scholars, where he designed and taught interdisciplinary seminars for high school students. 

Christopher Krow
Upper School Math Teacher
Christopher Krow brings more than 25 years of experience teaching mathematics in independent schools, including leadership roles as Mathematics Department Chair at Friends Seminary and the Academy of St. Joseph. Throughout his career, he has taught a wide range of courses from Algebra through AP Calculus and AP Statistics while leading curriculum development, mentoring faculty, and integrating innovative STEM and project-based learning into the classroom. He also serves as summer mathematics faculty at Phillips Academy Andover and is an AP Statistics Exam Reader for the College Board. Christopher holds a Master of Science in Statistics and Applied Mathematics from Lehigh University and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, magna cum laude, from Albright College.

Ann Tucker
Upper School Math Teacher
Ann Tucker brings a unique blend of classroom teaching, higher education, and quantitative finance experience to RCDS. Most recently, she taught advanced mathematics courses, including College Linear Algebra, AP Statistics, and Advanced Topics, at The Stony Brook School, where she was recognized for excellence in teaching and student mentorship. She previously served as a research professor at Stony Brook University and held leadership roles in quantitative modeling and securities trading before returning to education. Ann holds a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from Stony Brook University and is New York State certified to teach mathematics in grades 7–12. 

Irina Georgescu
Upper School Science Teacher
Irina Georgescu brings a strong background in biology, chemistry, and scientific research, most recently teaching Chemistry, Accelerated Biology, and Forensic Science at The Heschel School. She has also served as an adjunct lecturer at Baruch College and spent several years providing advanced biology and chemistry instruction through private tutoring while developing biology and chemistry curricula for homeschool students. In addition to her teaching experience, Irina has conducted graduate research in plant science at the City College of New York, specializing in molecular biology and biochemistry. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology and Electrical Engineering from the City College of New York and is currently pursuing doctoral studies in Plant Science.

Ann Persaud
Lower School/Middle School Counselor
Ann Persaud is a licensed social worker with more than eight years of experience supporting students across independent and public school settings. Most recently, she served as a Lower and Middle School Counselor at Dwight School, where she developed schoolwide social-emotional learning initiatives, provided individual and group counseling, and partnered closely with faculty and families to support student well-being. Her experience also includes leadership roles in school-based mental health services, clinical supervision, and restorative practices. Ann holds a Master of Social Work from Yeshiva University and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a minor in Psychology from Hunter College, and is certified as an LMSW and SIFI field instructor. 

Jeremy Scheuer
Middle School Language Arts Teacher
Jeremy Scheuer brings more than a decade of experience teaching English, humanities, journalism, and creative writing in independent and alternative school settings. Most recently, he served on the Humanities faculty at The Northwest School in Seattle, where he taught literature and writing, advised students, developed interdisciplinary curricula, and contributed to admissions, sustainability, and schoolwide initiatives. He also has extensive experience mentoring young writers as a college essay specialist and creative writing instructor. Jeremy holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and Creative Writing from Reed College and a Master of Fine Arts in Fiction from the Warren Wilson Program for Writers.

Leslie Spalding
Upper School Spanish Teacher
Leslie Spalding brings more than 23 years of experience teaching Spanish in independent schools throughout the New York area. Most recently, he served as an Upper School Spanish teacher, advisor, and coach at Ethical Culture Fieldston School, where he taught language and culture, advised students, and led international travel experiences. His career also includes teaching at The Nightingale-Bamford School, New Canaan Country School, Greenwich Academy, and previously at RCDS as a substitute Spanish teacher. In addition to his work in the classroom, Leslie has coached interscholastic athletics for more than two decades and is a certified yoga teacher and social-emotional wellness facilitator.

Joyah Spangler
Drama and Dance Teacher
Joyah Spangler brings a dynamic background in theater education, directing, and performing arts, most recently serving as Associate Artistic Director at Random Farms Kids' Theater, where she directed productions and helped develop educational programming and curriculum. She also works as a Performance Coordinator at The Public Theater's Joe's Pub and as an Associate Director with Tim Drucker Productions, bringing extensive experience in stage management, production, and the performing arts. Joyah earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre and Dance from Otterbein University and has continued her training in improvisation and sketch comedy at Upright Citizens Brigade. 

Joshua Ziesel
Upper School Latin Teacher
Joshua Ziesel brings a strong background in Classics and language instruction, most recently serving as a Visiting Lecturer and Graduate Student Instructor in the Department of Classics at New York University. He has taught Latin and Ancient Greek at multiple levels while mentoring students and contributing to curriculum development and language pedagogy initiatives. In addition to his teaching, Joshua works as a copy editor for DK Books, bringing a keen eye for language and communication to his work. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Classics and English from Loyola University Maryland and a Ph.D. in Classics from New York University.

Karen Hendershot Doshi
Associate Director of College Counseling
Karen Hendershot Doshi brings extensive experience in education, admissions, and college counseling, most recently serving as an Admissions Representative for the University of St Andrews in St Andrews, Scotland, where she recruited and evaluated applicants across North America. Previously, she taught English and served as a Grade Level Leader at Uncommon Charter High School, supporting students academically while guiding them through the college application process. Earlier in her career, Karen worked in nonprofit development, leading fundraising initiatives, grant writing, and special events for ArtsConnection. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and Political Science, magna cum laude, from Gettysburg College and a Master of Arts in English Education from Hunter College.

Tameka Farrell-Bowman
Interim Dean of Teaching and Learning
Tameka brings nearly two decades of experience in independent school leadership, curriculum innovation, and faculty development. During her previous ten years at RCDS, she served as PK–12 Science Department Chair and Upper School Science Teacher, where she led curriculum initiatives, mentored faculty, developed the school's nationally recognized Science Research program, and championed meaningful STEM opportunities for students. Most recently, Tameka has served as Assistant Head of School for Academics at Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart, leading schoolwide academic strategy, professional development, curriculum design, and faculty growth. Her collaborative leadership, commitment to educational excellence, and passion for student-centered learning have made a lasting impact on every community she has served. We are excited to welcome Tameka back to RCDS and look forward to the expertise, leadership, and enthusiasm she brings as she rejoins our community.

Megan Retzloff
IT Support Technician
Megan Retzloff brings experience providing technical support to faculty, staff, and students across several Westchester school districts, as well as managing devices and software through platforms including Microsoft Intune, Jamf Pro, and Apple School Manager. Most recently, Megan served as a Junior Network Specialist with Southern Westchester BOCES. She earned both a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts and a Master of Science in Education in the Art of Teaching from Sarah Lawrence College.

Brian Villalta
Upper School Teaching Fellow, Math Department 
Brian Villalta is a proud RCDS alumni who returns to RCDS after serving as a Teaching Fellow in Mathematics at The Loomis Chaffee School. There, he taught Advanced Precalculus, developed curriculum and assessments, supported students through individualized instruction and extra-help sessions, and contributed extensively to campus life as a dorm parent, coach, and freshman advisor. Brian has also worked as a private mathematics tutor since 2019, helping students build confidence and achieve success in courses ranging from Prealgebra through AP Calculus and AP Statistics. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Financial Economics with double minors in Mathematics and Statistics from Columbia University and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Mathematics Education at Teachers College, Columbia University. We are excited to welcome Brian back to our community.

Grace Casale
Upper School Science Teaching and Lab Assistant 
Grace Casale rejoins RCDS after graduating from Dartmouth College, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Human Biology with a minor in Music. Most recently, she served as a Chemistry Learning Fellow, leading collaborative problem-solving sessions and using evidence-based teaching practices to support student learning. In addition to her teaching experience, Grace served as an EMT with Dartmouth Emergency Medical Service and as a Patient Support Intern at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, providing compassionate patient care and supporting physicians, nurses, and families. Her experiences also include a global health internship at a rural health clinic in Uganda, where she assisted with laboratory testing and patient care while learning alongside local healthcare professionals. We are excited to welcome Grace back to RCDS.

Gabrielle Cox
Physical Education Teacher & Coach

Gabrielle Cox joins RCDS in a full-time role after previously serving the community as a coach, student teacher, and ACTION Program instructor. She earned both her Bachelor of Arts in Sports Studies and Master’s degree in Education with a concentration in Physical Education and Sports Pedagogy from Manhattanville University. As a former collegiate ice hockey student-athlete, Gabrielle brings extensive teaching and coaching experience to RCDS. She has coached ice hockey and softball at RCDS and currently serves as an Assistant Ice Hockey Coach at Manhattanville University.
