RCDS Wildcats Return to the Field for the First-Ever Fall Scrimmage Day

On a beautiful October Sunday, the Wildcats had the chance to get back on the field for Rye Country Day’s first-ever Fall Scrimmage Day. Fall athletes, who have been participating in team building, conditioning, skill development and team play, were excited to compete and their enthusiastic performance was evident from the moment they stepped on the field!

The day began with the Cross Country Team running a 5K followed by Blue/Gold scrimmages from Girls’ Soccer, Boys’ Soccer, and Field Hockey. It was an especially meaningful day for our senior athletes who concluded their final fall season at RCDS. Families and friends were encouraged to cheer on the Wildcats virtually via the School’s livestream service, and the teams delivered a rousing day of sport for the remote spectators. Congratulations to our fall Wildcats on a great first RCDS Fall Scrimmage Day.

Commenting on the day, Director of Athletics Wendy Haft said, “The Wildcats have proven themselves to be outstanding athletes, admirably dedicated to their teammates and sports, even during this challenging time. They have persevered, and today they gave it their all. It was an emotional day for the seniors and everyone was pumped up to make it a special day for each one. It was a thrill to see all of the athletes in action, and we are so proud of their athleticism, resilience, and strength of character. Go, Wildcats!”
