Romi Schreiber ’24, Lior Gurion ’22, and Samuel Kobi ’24 competed at the 21st World Maccabi Games in Israel, winning gold and silver medals respectively.
Romi represented the United States in U16 Girls’ Soccer, winning gold after defeating the Netherlands, 2-0.
Lior represented the United States in U18 Boys’ Soccer, winning silver after falling to Israel, 3-0.
Samuel represented the United States in U18 Fencing, winning silver in both the team and individual competitions.
Open to Jewish athletes from around the world and Israeli athletes of any religion, the World Maccabi Games are the world’s largest Jewish athletic competition. The games take place every four years and are often referred to as the Jewish Olympics.
