Rye Country Day School has earned the Essential Learning Experience (ELE) credential through the Middle States Association’s (MSA) Responsible AI in Learning Endorsement (RAIL) program. This marks the School’s second RAIL endorsement and its continued commitment towards responsible integration of artificial intelligence in education.

RCDS was one of only 10 schools to receive the ELE credential from a pool of more than 100 schools eligible to pursue this second phase of the RAIL endorsement. The recognition builds on the School’s successful completion of the AI Literacy, Safety, and Ethics (LSE) endorsement last year.

The ELE endorsement recognizes schools that demonstrate how artificial intelligence can be used intentionally to enhance meaningful teaching and learning experiences. During the 2025-26 school year, RCDS faculty participated in an Action Research Project, designing, implementing, and refining AI-supported lessons, assessments, and instructional strategies across disciplines.

“This endorsement reflects the dedication and collaborative spirit of our faculty,” said Director of Academic Technology Dr. Daren Khairule. “Through thoughtful experimentation and continuous improvement, our teachers explored how AI can enhance learning while remaining grounded in the values that define an RCDS education.”

Looking ahead, RCDS will introduce a new AI Framework during the 2026-27 school year, along with professional learning opportunities to support faculty as they continue to explore the role of AI in teaching and learning.
