Shane Regan ’20, a graduate student at the University of Chicago, was named to the D3hoops.com National Team of the Week from January 5–11 and was named to the Bevo Francis Top 100 Watch List in recognition of his standout season.

In a rival matchup against No. 13 ranked Washington University, Shane recorded 22 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists while shooting an outstanding 11-for-15 from the field. His performance marked the first time in more than 15 years that a University of Chicago player posted at least 20 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists in a single game.

The Clarence “Bevo” Francis Watch List includes top players from NCAA Division II and III, NAIA Division I and II, as well as USCAA and NCCAA programs. This marks the first time in the nine-year history of the award that a University of Chicago men’s basketball player has been selected to the watch list. The award is presented annually to the top small-college men’s basketball player in the country. 

Shane is in the midst of a great season, averaging 18.2 points, 4.4 assists, and 4.3 rebounds per game. The University of Chicago Maroons are currently ranked No. 2 in the nation and hold a 13–1 overall record, including a perfect 3–0 start in University Athletic Association play.
