Congratulations to Alexander Nichols ’22, Cleo Saltz ’24, and Tyvaughn Jones ’22 who won Fairchester Athletic Association (FAA) Track & Field Championship titles in their respective events on Monday, May 9.
Alexander Nichols ’22 earned two first-place finishes in the 100 and 200-meter dash races, breaking the RCDS 100-meter record with a time of 10.96 seconds. The record was previously held by Jimmy Sandling ’16. Alexander will continue his track career this fall at Amherst College.
Cleo Saltz ’24 won two first-place events in the 800-meter run, finishing with a time of 2:33.94, and the 3,000-meter run, with a time of 11:54.33.
Tyvaughn Jones ’22 won the FAA Shot Put Championship with a throw of 40 feet, 0.75 inches. A multi-sport athlete, Tyvaughn will play football at Grinnell College.
