Upper School English Teacher Heather Wayne was recently awarded the 2025 Victoria Brehm Prize from the Constance Fenimore Woolson Society for her book, “Consuming Empire in U.S. Fiction, 1865–1930.”
Dr. Wayne’s book is a work of literary criticism analyzing the significance of globally-traded commodities in American fiction around the turn of the twentieth century. Her work was specifically recognized for the second chapter’s historical reading of the references to the North American fur trade in Constance Fenimore Wollson’s 1882 novel “Anne.”
Congratulations, Heather!
