Upper School Orientation Trips

Each year during the first week of school, Upper School students take part in a two-day orientation to help them connect with their classmates and prepare for all that the year has to offer.

Ninth graders began their time at Boundless Adventures Zip Lining and Ropes Course in Purchase before returning to campus to learn about the four-year Public Purpose Program: Inquiry to Impact, which they will participate in throughout their time at RCDS. They also created individual pieces to add to the Class of 2030 mural.

Tenth graders traveled to the Poconos, where they took part in outdoor activities, including zip lining, paddleboarding, and swimming. They also enjoyed a campfire with s’mores and participated in a variety of team-building activities.

Eleventh graders traveled to Frost Valley YMCA in the Catskill Mountains of upstate New York for team-building and leadership development activities.

Twelfth graders stayed on campus to contribute to public purpose programming. Activities included making sandwiches for Meals on Main Street’s Mobile Food Pantry deliveries, making fleece blankets for the Sharing Shelf and Paws Crossed, and working on campus to weed, harvest, and maintain the gardens.
