Upper School Play 1984 Named Finalist in Five Categories of Eastern Student Artist Guild Awards

In November, the Drama Department staged the Upper School production of 1984, a play adapted from George Orwell’s dystopian novel that explored the themes of mass media control, government surveillance, and totalitarianism. RCDS was under consideration for five awards, and the cast and crew were named finalists in all five of its designated categories. The finalists were determined after being evaluated by a panel of adjudicators, including a team of professional actors.

Finalists for the 2024 Eastern Student Artist Guild Awards:

  • Best Stage Manager: Space Pace ’24
  • Best Ensemble in a Drama: 1984
  • Best Actor in a Drama: David Colin ’24
  • Best Actor in a Drama: Zoe Sterling-Dixon ’26
  • Best Drama Production: 1984

The awards ceremony will be held on May 4 at Manhattanville University.

Congratulations to the cast and crew of 1984!
