In November, the Drama Department staged the Upper School production of 1984, a play adapted from George Orwell’s dystopian novel that explored the themes of mass media control, government surveillance, and totalitarianism. RCDS was under consideration for five awards, and the cast and crew were named finalists in all five of its designated categories. The finalists were determined after being evaluated by a panel of adjudicators, including a team of professional actors.
