The Upper School (US) Robotics Team delivered an impressive performance at their second Annual Vex Robotics Competition (VRC) event on Saturday, January 20, 2024, hosting 21 teams from eight schools throughout the Westchester, Orange, and Rockland County areas.
The Wildcats (Teams 18693A, 18693B, and 18693C) demonstrated their skills and teamwork throughout the competition. Teams B, C, and A placed 9th, 11th, and 18th in the qualification rounds, respectively. Teams B and C joined forces for the elimination rounds, showcasing effective collaboration. Their alliance advanced to the quarterfinals, displaying resilience and strategic prowess before being eliminated.
Teams A and C excelled in the skills challenge, achieving new season personal bests with scores of 51 and 44, surpassing their previous records of 14 and 17, respectively.
Team B earned the Sportsmanship Award, which is given to a team that is courteous, helpful, and respectful to everyone on and off the field.
The competition marked an overall improvement for all three Robotics teams since their first competition in December, reflecting the dedication and hard work of the Upper School roboticists.
Looking ahead, each team is committed to continuous growth and enhancement as they prepare for the upcoming tournament in Somers, NY, hosted by John F. Kennedy Catholic Preparatory School on February 10.
