On January 11, the Upper School Robotics Team hosted the third Annual VEX Robotics Competition (VRC) event, which brought together 23 teams from 11 schools throughout New York City and Westchester, Orange, and Rockland Counties.
The event was a thrilling showcase of the students’ skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The multi-stage competition included a variety of challenges, such as scoring rings on stakes, placing mobile goals, and climbing at the end of the match.
RCDS teams finished with the following rankings:
- Team C: 8th in qualification round, 9th in skills rankings
- Team B: 14th in qualification round and skills rankings
- Team A: 15th in qualification round, 8th in skills rankings
Teams B and C were selected for the Elimination Round. Team A earned the Sportsmanship Award, which is given to the team that demonstrates courtesy, helpfulness, and respect both on and off the field.
Congratulations to all the competing teams, and special thanks to the RCDS faculty, staff, parents, and community members for making this event possible.
