Upper School Students Launch Inaugural Issue of Student-Led RCDS Research Journal

This winter, the inaugural issue of The RCDS Research Journal (TRRJ) was published. A student-led biannual publication, TRRJ is dedicated to showcasing original research and multi-disciplinary academic inquiry from RCDS Upper Schoolers.

Tenth grader Alexandra Lund ’28 founded TRRJ with a mission to provide a platform for students to share rigorous, independent scholarship—just like student-led and peer-reviewed university research journals.

Submissions to TRRJ underwent a multi-step application and review process with students and faculty advisors. The experience introduced student researchers to the publishing process and encouraged generative collaboration. The end result? An impressive and enlightening read that highlights the deep learning benefits of original research and peer-review.

In TRRJ’s first issue, readers can explore an exciting range of articles, including explorations of the Harlem Renaissance and literary identity, advanced mathematical modeling, cutting-edge biomedical research, and analyses of contemporary digital discourse. Thoroughly studied and thoughtfully crafted, each piece demonstrates the students authors’ commitment to critical thinking, creativity, and scholarly excellence.

Congratulations to Alexandra and the entire editorial team on this exciting accomplishment! And special thanks to the TRRJ Upper School faculty advisors for their guidance and support.

“TRRJ’s primary goal as Rye Country Day School’s very first student-led and peer-reviewed research journal is to highlight and showcase high school research, innovation, and scholarship. Taking inspiration from numerous university research journals, such as THURJ, we strive to have a lasting and meaningful impact in the Rye Country Day community.”
