On November 12, the Upper School Wind Ensemble and Honors Jazz Band traveled to New Canaan Country School (NCCS) in New Canaan, CT, for a special performance for students and faculty in the Band, Choral, and Orchestra programs.

Organized in collaboration with RCDS Music Department Chair Mary Marcell, Upper School Music Teacher John Hager, and NCCS Band Director Andy Tyson, the visit offered an exciting opportunity to inspire NCCS’s fifth- through ninth-grade musicians to continue their musical careers through high school.

It was a wonderful day of musical joy and connection. NCCS students listened with genuine excitement and our RCDS musicians thoroughly enjoyed sharing their talents to help their peers envision their futures in music. Many thanks to NCCS Band Director Andy Tyson for hosting our ensembles so graciously and for creating a rewarding experience for all.
