Valentine’s Day at RCDS

RCDS celebrated Valentine’s Day with both new and established traditions.

Blind Date With A Book
The RCDS English Department and Library continued their annual tradition of “Blind Date With A Book” in the halls of the Upper School. Students were able to select from wrapped, gently-used books accompanied with short, intriguing descriptions. This Upper School tradition is a beloved way for students to nurture their love of reading.

Eighth-Grade Spanish Students Participate Pen-Pal Exchange Program
As part of a pen-pal exchange program, students in Ms. Rosenzweig’s Spanish class created beautiful cards to send to students at the Oak House School in Barcelona, Spain. The cards included well-wishes for Valentine’s Day and the new year. The program has been a wonderful  way for students to practice their Spanish writing skills, while forming connections with peers in Spain.

Gr. 4 & K Reading Buddies + Bracelets 
Fourth graders visited their Lower School buddies in Kindergarten to read and make special Valentine’s Day bracelets together.
