Wildcats Around the World: Exploring Civil Rights in the American South

Current ninth graders who traveled to Georgia and Alabama as part of Rye Country Day’s Global Studies program gathered in the PAC Foyer to share their experiences as part of the School’s “Wildcats Around the World” lunch-and-learn series.

The students shared how eye-opening the four-day trip was, as they explored a number of significant sights in Atlanta, Montgomery, Selma, and Birmingham during the Civil Rights Movement in the American South. The trip served as an indelible reminder of the past and the ways in which students can use their voices today.
