Zara Khemlani ’27 Wins Diplomatech Challenge and Presents AI Innovation at UNA-USA Advocacy Summit

Rising senior Zara Khemlani ’27 was recognized for her innovative approach to global engagement after winning the Diplomatech Challenge and presenting her AI-powered website, DiplomatMUN, at the United Nations Association of the United States of America (UNA-USA) Red White and UN Blue 2026 Advocacy Summit on June 29.

Through DiplomatMUN, Zara developed a resource designed to support students participating in Model United Nations and encourage greater engagement with global issues. Empowering students to explore international affairs in new ways, the project combines technology, diplomacy, and civic learning.

As the winner of the Diplomatech Challenge, Zara was invited to attend the UNA-USA Advocacy Summit, where she presented her work and connected with young advocates, experts, and changemakers from across the country.

During the summit, she joined fellow student advocates from around the world and heard from leaders including international development and global health professional Faith Akovi Cooper and Claire Melamed, Vice President for AI and Digital Cooperation at the United Nations Foundation.
